Sisters share their faith.

A monastic life rooted in . . .

Ministry

Our Visitandine monastic life and prayer overflows into an outreach expressed in a variety of ways.

Visitation Academy is our elementary school for girls from Nursery through Grade 8. While the school is administered and staffed by Salesian-oriented lay faculty, we Sisters have a unique opportunity to share our deep-seated faith in our monastic academy by praying with and teaching young children in religion class, if so called and qualified, or by our simple presence at other times. Prayerful atmosphere

Retreatants are welcomed into our enclosure and share our daily life, prayer and spirit, enhancing the monastery’s prayerful atmosphere with their own. Our retreat wing can accommodate a maximum of four women concurrently on a private week or weekend retreat, or day of recollection.

Our Associate Program also welcomes lay women for monthly talks, prayer and sharing on Salesian spirituality. Their multi-faceted collaboration with us penetrates deeply into the heart of our monastic journey.

Collaboration with lay women

We also host the Daughters of St Francis de Sales’ monthly meetings and special events. These consecrated lay women share the Salesian spirit of St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane de Chantal in a worldwide and distinct organization. (www.sfdsassociation.org)
